Type 1 diabetes care has never seemed more complex. Plus, quality time with the diabetes expert seems to get shorter at each office visit. Parents of children with type 1 diabetes and adults with this condition constantly struggle to keep up to date with state of the art diabetes education and training to achieve the best possible diabetes control for their children or themselves.

While parents and adults with type 1 diabetes receive instruction on advanced diabetes care skills and strategies from internationally recognized diabetes experts their children with diabetes and siblings (ages 6-16) will enjoy the medically supervised recreational programs of the Texas Lions Camp.

In addition, grandparents will be provided a separate, unique day long workshop designed to meet their specific diabetes educational needs, including hands-on diabetes self care skills training for their grandchild with diabetes provided by experienced pediatric certified diabetes educators.
